How the board works
Nine members, three seats up each year
How do I run for the MRWS board?
Every year three of the nine positions are up for election. Download the application and directions for applying (Word document).
How long is a term, and who chooses the officers?
Each position is a three-year term, elected in alternating years. The board itself decides who the officers will be from year to year.
Does the board have a budget?
Yes. The board is given an annual operating budget: here is 2026's budget (PDF). It also receives training from the National Rural Water Association so it can function as an active and knowledgeable board.
