Questions

System membership questions

Who counts as a system?

Any public water or wastewater system in Montana with a PWS ID: towns, water and sewer districts, subdivisions, schools, campgrounds, businesses that run their own system. Size doesn't matter: every system is eligible.

How are our dues worked out?

Community systems pay by their number of service connections; non-community systems by type (transient or non-transient). Use the dues calculator to see your exact amount: $50 to $400 a year.

Does our membership cover everyone who works here?

Yes. Operators, board members and office staff of a member system all pay member prices for training. Register them with your system's PWS ID and the price is applied automatically.

Is MRWS part of the state?

No. MRWS is an association of Montana's water and wastewater systems, not a state agency. We work alongside DEQ, local health departments, USDA Rural Development and EPA to help small systems. We're not here to control your system: we help you run it.

How do we renew?

Memberships last one year. We e-mail you a reminder 30 days and 7 days before yours ends. To renew, sign in with your e-mail address and your details are filled in for you. Pay by card (a 3% convenience fee applies) or by check.
