A series of lectures followed by guided exercises in a wet lab covers field testing of the four backflow prevention assemblies (pressure vacuum breakers, spill-resistant vacuum breakers, reduced pressure principle assemblies and double check assemblies), hydraulics, backflow and backsiphonage, cross connections, degrees of hazard, and state and federal rules. The written exam is Friday afternoon and the practical exam Saturday morning, given by ABPA. Passing both results in ABPA certification as a backflow prevention assembly tester.
The written and practical exams are given by the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA). The exam fee is not part of this registration: each attendee must also register and pay the exam fee directly with ABPA, by the registration deadline.
Go to the ABPA exam calendar, choose the city of this class, sign in (or choose "Continue as Guest"), and complete the registration and payment.
