Source Water Protection Specialist

As a MRWS Source Water Protection Specialist for 19 years, Kristi continues to provide technical assistance to communities across Montana in the development of protection plans for their public drinking water sources. This assistance includes facilitating and mediating a collaborative planning process with municipal water system staff and planning team members including community residents; watershed groups; local officials; County sanitarians, planners, DES Coordinators, conservation district members; landowners, agriculture producers, and staff from county and state NRCS, FSA, MT DEQ, DNRC, and federal agencies including US Forest Service, BLM, and BOR. Additional assistance includes public presentations, training, developing reports and support for implementation of the community plan.

Kristi’s background also includes 25 years of supervisory experience in operation and maintenance for the City of Havre Wastewater Treatment Facility, in addition with providing classroom instruction and operator training for the MSU-Northern Water Quality Program.
